Saying Yes to the Dress: A Plus-Size Bride’s Experience

Saying Yes to the Dress: A Plus-Size Bride’s Experience

Hi, I’m Chloe—a proud plus-size bride, and I’m getting married this September!

Planning my dream wedding has been one of the most exciting (and emotional!) adventures of my life. But I’m going to be honest… there was one thing I avoided for as long as possible: wedding dress shopping.

As a curvier bride, I was worried I wouldn’t get that magical “say yes to the dress” moment you always see in movies or on Instagram. I feared I’d walk into a bridal boutique, find nothing in my size, feel judged, and leave feeling like I didn’t belong in the world of bridal fashion.

But then, something amazing happened…

I Said YES to the Dress at a Plus-Size Bridal Boutique!

I had the most empowering and joyful experience at Wedding Belles Love Curvy Brides in Stoke-on-Trent. From the moment I walked in, I was treated like royalty. They welcomed me with bubbly, a personalised sign, and even gave my bridal party ribbons to help pick out dresses. I felt celebrated, supported, and seen.

And the best part? The dresses actually fit. Beautiful, modern, elegant gowns—in real plus sizes, not just stretched samples. I finally looked in the mirror and felt incredible. I saw a bride. I saw me.

And YES, I found the one! I’m keeping it a secret for now (because my fiancé reads everything I post 👀), but let’s just say: I’ve never felt more beautiful in anything in my life.

Dresses I Tried (But Didn’t Say Yes To)

I tried on five gorgeous gowns in total—four of which didn’t make the cut. But each dress helped me figure out what felt like “me” and what didn’t. Here’s a little behind-the-scenes of my try-on journey:

Dress One – Puffy sleeves & fit-and-flare drama

This dress brought major romance and high-fashion vibes. I loved the drama, but I worried it would overwhelm me. I could already picture myself looking back and regretting a trendy choice rather than a timeless one.

Dress Two – Sheer basque with netting

Pretty and delicate, but truthfully… I didn’t have the boobs for it! It looked beautiful on the hanger, but I didn’t feel secure or bridal once it was on.

Dress Three – Silky, simple & classic with added sleeves

Elegant and timeless, this one had potential. But I felt like I was trying to make it into a dress I liked, rather than loving it as it was. Close, but not quite the one.

Dress Four – Fit and flare with a plunging neckline

A flattering shape and a dramatic neckline—so many elements I loved. But again, it didn’t suit my bust, and I just didn’t feel 100% confident.

Dress Five – THE One (But Still a Secret!)

This one is under wraps… but let’s just say I knew instantly. I felt like a beautiful version of myself—confident, comfortable, and glowing. It was perfect.

Eating Disorder Awareness Week – Eating Disorders affect all kinds of bodies

Eating Disorder Awareness Week – Eating Disorders affect all kinds of bodies

So this week its eating disorder awareness week. It’s an international event that helps to address the misconceptions of eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and ENDOS. Eating disorders can be seriously damaging to a persons physical and mental health. By raising awareness it not only stops misconceptions but gives those who struggle with food some support. It raises awareness of what to do and what services are out there that people can reach out to find support.

I know what you’re thinking, why would a fatty be talking about eating disorders? Surely she’s just making excuses for a poor diet? Well actually its a common misconception that those who suffer from eating disorders are just thin, when actually around 50% of people that suffer from eating disorders actually suffer from binge eating or ENDOS. Seven Acts of Self-Love for Valentines Day

Seven Acts of Self-Love for Valentines Day

This Valentines Day I wanted to spread the love and what better way to do this than by spreading the self-love message. In true RuPaul fashion, ‘if you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else’.

So for the next 7 days leading up to Valentines Day I’m sharing 7 acts of self-love (one a day) to encourage you to proactively do the same! I’ll be sharing these on my Instagram page @chloeepeach and using the hashtag #sevenactsofselflove so you can share with me how you partake in self-love this Valentines Day. Gone are the days of Valentines just being about couples and relationships! So get involved!

A new year doesn’t necessarily bring a new you

A new year doesn’t necessarily bring a new you

Happy New Year! Let’s hope 2019 is kind to you!

The excitement of a new year for a lot of people means the chance of a fresh start, the end of an era and the start of a new one. We often get caught up in all the madness of a New Year that we believe we can simply change the person we are just by writing down a simple to do list of resolutions, but in reality New Year is just another day, and just like any other day you have to work for the things you want in life.

So its that time of year guys, the Christmas parties are just around the corner and let me guess, you have no idea what to wear?

A lot of people dread fashion this time of year due to the fact that, everything, everywhere consists of glitter, sequins and sparkle. If you’re not confident enough to wear something that’s going to draw attention to yourself then this time of year probably won’t be your friend. But in all honesty it doesn’t have to be that way! There’s so many beautiful party dresses or outfits out there, and you really could let the bell go to the ball. Continue reading “Christmas really is your time to shine! The Devils in the Detail – Where to shop plus size Halloween

The Devils in the Detail – Where to shop plus size Halloween

Hey guys welcome back! So this year has gone super quick and just like that it’s October! October means one thing… Halloween, muhahahaa (creepy Halloween laugh because I clearly think I’m funny).

I love dressing up for Halloween or for fancy dress parties, sometimes wearing clothes that aren’t ordinarily your style can totally give you a confidence boost and make you feel extra. Trying to find the perfect costume can be hard, but even harder when it comes to being plus size. Most Halloween or party shops only stock to sizes 16 or 18 if you’re lucky. My Plus Size Party Packed Ibiza Trip

My Plus Size Party Packed Ibiza Trip

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. So it’s been a busy couple of weeks for me with work and on top of that I lost my laptop charger (my laptop has all my content on, seriously need a backup copy).  So anyways that’s the reason I’ve been MIA and this is the first opportunity I’ve had to post all about my Ibiza trip, which if you were following my Instagram, you would’ve seen some photos from my trip already.

So I’ve been to Ibiza before and therefore had some idea of what to expect, but I went with my boyfriend before and we did a few nights out but nothing heavy. Whereas this time we did it properly, all of the big clubs (well most of them) and beach parties. I really did have the best time. I went with two girls from college and my bestie.
