The Devils in the Detail – Where to shop plus size Halloween

Hey guys welcome back! So this year has gone super quick and just like that it’s October! October means one thing… Halloween, muhahahaa (creepy Halloween laugh because I clearly think I’m funny).

I love dressing up for Halloween or for fancy dress parties, sometimes wearing clothes that aren’t ordinarily your style can totally give you a confidence boost and make you feel extra. Trying to find the perfect costume can be hard, but even harder when it comes to being plus size. Most Halloween or party shops only stock to sizes 16 or 18 if you’re lucky.

So I’ve put together some of the best places to buy Plus Size Halloween outfits and how to wear them.

Pretty Little Thing

So PLT have some super cute stuff and recently they have extended their size range with the help of Ashley Graham to make fashion more inclusive, let me just say that the range is fire, super sexy. PLT are a fashion forward brand that are super affordable, and this year they have some plus size Halloween gems that come up to a size 28.

Scream Queen Tee £12 available in sizes 16-26.
Skull Tee £10 available in sizes 16-26.

These little gems are a super cute way of wearing a Halloween trend quite casually without making too much of an effort. You could also wear them again, style them with a leather jacket and some ripped black skinny jeans to go for the bad-ass rocker chick vibe.

Black Skeleton Print Racer Neck Crop Top £8
Black Skeleton Print High Waisted Legging £15

‘In Girl World, Halloween is the one day a year when a girl can dress up like a total slut and no other girls can say anything else about it.’ So just because your plus size doesn’t mean you can’t be included in this Mean Girls mantra. This skeleton mesh two piece is super sexy and bang on trend with the mesh. If like me you’d be self-conscious of your arms add a leather jacket, it’ll still be in-keeping with Halloween theme and you’ll feel comfortable enough to rock this look.

Animal Print Crop Top £15 Availiable in sizes 4-28
Animal Print Mini Skirt £15 Availiable in sizes 4-28
Mesh Over-sized Top £10 Availiable in sizes 16-26

So this is not a typical Halloween costume, however it’s a fashionable way to incorporate a Halloween theme. Simply wear the animal print two piece underneath the mesh t-shirt dress and wear with some cat ears. This will give the illusion that you’re dressed as a tiger. Team the look with a super sexy cat eye and even some whiskers.

Skeleton Unitard £20 comes in sizes 16-26

So if you’re not bothered by clingy clothes then this unitard is for you. The cycling short is everywhere at the moment and so comes the unitard. PLT are often known for their basic figure hugging clothing that exude sex and this is no exception. If you’re self-conscious consider wearing an oversized mesh t-shirt over the top of the unitard.

Boohoo Plus

Boohoo have got quite a lot of plus size Halloween stuff. There’s lots to choose from. Most of their range only goes to a 24, which isn’t as inclusive as the PLT range however there is a lot more to choose from.

The right one is off the shoulder and a little sexier. Both are under £20 so you don’t have to worry about not wearing it again as it didn’t cost the earth.

T-shirt dresses are a more casual grungy way of wearing the Halloween trend. The one on the left is mesh and is a more fashionable take on a t-shirt dress. Team this dress with a pair of cycling shorts and plain black body for a real party vibe. The one on the right is simple and fun team with a pair of heeled boots and a choker for a really cool vibe.

These skeleton leggings are a more day to day way of wearing the trend. Wear with tunics or if you’re confident enough rock a crop top. The leggings on the right are great fun and if you love your bum the hand prints are a great way of drawing the eye there.

Skeleton Hand Halloween Tee £10 limited sizes left
Bat Halloween T-Shirt £12 available in sizes 16-24

These Halloween t-shirts a great way of wearing the Halloween trend as you can re-wear them again.

Yours Clothing

There wasn’t a great deal of choice from Yours Clothing, I can understand why, bigger brands might not produce as much festive fashion, because there’s only a limited time frame to sell it and it’s a risk because they will lose money on it after the date has passed.

Black & Orange Halloween Swing Top £21.99 available in 16-28
Black Halloween Witch Top £21.99 available in 16-28

These tunics are a simple way of wearing something Halloween it could definitely be worn to the office, give it a more formal vibe and put a plain white shirt underneath it.

Asos Curve

Asos is usually my go to place for plus size clothes. However, to my disappointment there hasn’t been a lot for plus size Halloween, this year. However, the stuff I have seen has sold really fast so be sure to act quick if you like either of these options, and keep an eye out for anything new they might bring to the table.

Halloween Harlequin Legging £16 Available in sizes 18-30

These leggings would work well when dressing as a Clown, a Joker or Harley Quinn. They have a real circus vibe and can easily be worn, you could wear a top tucked into them or you could style them with a longer top if you’d prefer.

Halloween Cheeky Fang Mini Dress Available in sizes 16-30

I’m actually going to a Halloween theme night out at the end of the month and I bought this to wear (let’s hope I love it when it comes). I really like the shape of it, I plan on wearing it with heeled ankle boots and a choker for a simple but Halloween vibe.

Simply Be

I usually love Simply Be and they are usually one of my go to brands, there wasn’t a lot of choice and these were the only two Halloween items I could find on their site.

Image taken from

Boo Halloween Jumper £26 Available in sizes 12-30

This jumper is a fun play on Halloween, it’s a jumper so is a little warmer if you’re planning something outside. It could be worn tucked into a skirt or casually with a pair of boyfriend jeans.

Koko Halloween Print Swing Dress £20 Available in sizes 16-32

This is a really simple way of adding Halloween to your wardrobe, it’s more casual and could be worn as a novelty top for the office or in a work setting with leggings or trousers. This top is sold through Simply Be, however it is the Koko brand which is a Lovedrobe brand.

I was very disappointed in Missguided’s Plus Size Halloween offering. As far as I was aware this was the only Halloween plus size item on their site and essentially its just a slogan tee. It surprises me when the likes of Boohoo and PLT, who are rivals of the brand, have such a strong offering.

Black T-shirt I’m a Mouse Duh – £12 Available in sizes 14-24

So in case you hadn’t guessed Mean Girls is one of my all-time favourite films, so the idea of this t-shirt just fills me with absolute joy. You could definitely wear this outside of the Halloween period. You could wear style it in a number of different ways, wear it tucked into a mini skirt and tights or wet look jeans and boots to give a real rocker chick vibe.

The Gypsy Shrine

Image taken from

I also just really want to give a shout-out to The Gypsy Shrine who are doing amazing things with their new superhero face jewel collection. These would be amazing added to a superhero costume to really give it the wow-factor.

If you feel you’re not confident enough to wear something head to toe Halloween then start small, instead wear what you might feel more comfortable in, maybe all black and then do some Halloween makeup. You could even get some Halloween accessories like cat ears, devil horns or a witch’s hat. Just because your plus size doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy Halloween and all its mystery. Halloween is also a great way of experimenting with what you feel comfortable in, dressing up as something else might give you a confidence boost and make you feel super sexy in your own skin.

Whatever you’re doing this Halloween have fun! Life is simply too short to be doing anything else. Dress how you want and as who you want, or if you don’t feel comfortable dressing up at all then that’s cool too!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, tag me in your Halloween outfit posts on Instagram @chloeepeach I’d love to see your creations!
